Recent Grand Openings
• Lowes Home Improvement Store held a ribbon cutting on December 2, 2009 for their newest store (+163,375 square feet) located at 2170 Howland Blvd. (DuPont Lakes Center). Employees: 120 • AutoZone opened a new +6,816 square foot store at 2120 Howland Blvd. on October 26, 2009. Employees: 8 • Walgreens Pharmacy opened a new +14,820 square foot store at 500 Howland Blvd. on May 26, 2009. Employees: 21 • The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints opened a new +12,868 square foot church at 210 Howland Blvd. A Certificate of Occupancy was issued on October 1, 2009. • The expansion of the Deltona Library, Lyonia Environmental Center and Amphitheater at 2150 Eustace Ave. had their grand opening on October 17, 2009. The library, which had been closed for renovation since May 2008, has doubled in size to accommodate Deltona's growing population. The expansion includes a 1,000 seat Amphitheater and an Environmental Center, where visitors can explore Volusia County's ecosystems.
Coming Soon• Shoppes of East Deltona is a new +8,450 square foot 4 unit strip center located at 121 Howland Blvd. The building has been constructed and a Certificate of Occupancy for three of the suites was issued. Three of the units are going to be occupied by the following three tenants: Game Stop, Mattress One and B&T's Bakery Deli. The site is nearly completed and includes five finished lots available for use. • Construction on the new Exit Realty located at 1801 Giles Street is nearing completion. Listed below are projects in the City of Deltona that have submitted an official development application and are finalizing or still under the review process:
• Top Shelf Car Wash will build a +5,760 square foot full service car wash on Howland Blvd. between Wolf Pack Run and Red Fox Run.
• Family Dollar has submitted conceptual site plans for two stores which are still under review. Locations: 2810 Elkcam Blvd. and 951 Doyle Road • Fernanda Landings - (residential subdivision) has submitted a rezoning application, which is under review. • Epic Theater's BPUD (Building Planning Unit Development) is under review.
