All meetings of the City Commission are open to the public. As part of the regular Commission meeting agenda, a section is entitled “Public Comments” whereby the public can address the Commission on any subject matter, with a maximum time-limit of four minutes. Special and workshop meetings of the City Commission are open to the public, although since these meetings are called for a special purpose/topic, no time is set aside specifically for public comments.

How do I request to speak before the City Commission?

At all Regular Commission meetings, forms are available to request to appear before the City Commission. These forms are placed on the table just inside the Commission Chambers. The form is the "Request to Appear Before the City of Deltona Commission for Matters Not on Meeting Agendas". If you wish to speak before the City Commission, under Public Comments, you will need to complete this form and turn it into the City Clerk sitting at the front of the room on the right side of the Chambers (near the audio/visual equipment). Once the Commission gets to the Public Comments’ portion of the meeting, all individuals requesting to speak will be called upon, one by one, in the order that the forms were received. If you wish to speak regarding a topic that is on the Commission agenda, the Mayor will open the floor for comments on all items not on the Consent Agenda portion of the meeting, and he will call upon members of the public to speak at the time each agenda item comes before the Commission.
